JuliAnn Mazachek Resigns as President of MSU Texas, Keith Lamb Appointed Interim President

MINI传媒 Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., announced Wednesday (Jan. 11) that , is resigning as president of (MSU Texas) to become the next president of Washburn University.

Mazachek has accepted the president position of Washburn University, an accredited public institution in Topeka, Kansas, where she served for 30 years in higher education prior to her appointment as the 12th president of MSU Texas in March 2022.

To assist during the transition, , vice president for enrollment management and student affairs and chief strategy officer at MSU Texas, has been appointed interim president, effective today (Jan. 11). He will serve the university in both positions at this time.

Lamb, a native of Vernon, Texas, first joined the university in 1999 and has served in a variety of roles, including director of housing and residence life, associate vice president for student affairs, vice president for enrollment management and vice president for student affairs. Lamb recently added the role of chief strategy officer, where he works closely with leaders across campus to ensure progress on key strategic initiatives and to ensure resources and support for the continual work leads to future success.

He has significant experience leading special initiatives during the past 24 years that span the institution and include multiple stakeholders, including leading a team to plan, develop and open the MSU Texas Flower Mound Student Learning Center and co-chairing the university鈥檚 response to COVID-19.

Lamb will assume the interim president role immediately and will work with Mazachek through Jan. 31 to transition duties and responsibilities.

This was a very difficult decision for us to make.
