MINI传媒 Board of Regents Chairman Christopher M. Huckabee issued today (May 14) the following statement regarding announcement regarding its growing interest in joining the MINI传媒 System.

Statement from Chairman Christopher M. Huckabee:

鈥淲e continue to be encouraged by discussions we鈥檝e had with the leadership at Midwestern State University, and we are pleased by the feedback we received today from their Board of Regents meeting regarding their growing interest in joining the Texas Tech University System.

鈥淢SU Texas has a sterling reputation across the state 鈥 from its dynamic leadership, campus growth and accessible and affordable educational offerings. We appreciate President Shipley and the MSU Texas Board of Regents鈥 diligent work throughout this process while gathering feedback from the many constituents and stakeholders of the University, including students, faculty, staff, community members and alumni.

鈥淥ur Board of Regents and Chancellor Tedd Mitchell admire MSU Texas鈥 accomplishments as a leading Liberal Arts university, along with its strength and continuing development of opportunities for its students. Established in 1996 and headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, the is a $2 billion higher education enterprise focused on advancing higher education, health care, research and community outreach. During the 86th Texas Legislature under the leadership of , legislative funding and authority was provided to establish a new Texas Tech University veterinary school in Amarillo and a new dental school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. The addition of these two schools makes the MINI传媒 System one of only nine in the nation to offer programs for undergraduate, medical, law, nursing, pharmacy, dental and veterinary education, among other academic areas.
