Board of Regents Approve Resolution of The Board to Recognize Health Care and Medical Professionals

Ron HammondsOn Thursday, December 10, at the regularly scheduled December meeting, the Board of Regents unanimously approved a Resolution of the Board to recognize and honor the health care and medical professionals in the region and state.
Since the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic on March 11, 2020, front line health care workers in Texas, the U.S. and across the globe have tirelessly gone above and beyond to serve their communities and citizens in need.
Hospitals and health care systems have been stretched beyond their limits, at times with zero hospital bed capacity, but they continued to rise above expectations and provide their communities with world-class health care services.
For the sacrifices they have made, the Board of Regents offers expressions of profound gratitude.
鈥淭he people involved in caring for those affected by this virus are very brave and have put in a tremendous amount of work and effort,鈥� said Regent . 鈥淭he challenges they face on a daily basis would bring tears to your eyes. These health care workers are with patients who are separated from their families and must face this virus alone with only a nurse to hold their hand. I am very proud of this Board and I propose this resolution for us to say thank you to all the health care workers involved.鈥�
The Board of Regents is proud to recognize and honor the health care workforce and medical professionals for their dedication and service to their communities during the coronavirus pandemic. Copies of the resolution will be provided for the leadership of the universities of the MINI传媒 System to share with the medical systems in their respective areas.
